Diploma of Theology
The SMBC Diploma of Theology (DipTh) is a great place to begin your theological studies and start testing where God might be preparing you to serve. At AQF level 5, it’s ideal for those without an undergraduate degree. It can be studied full-time or part-time. The Diploma will give you essential biblical foundations (Old Testament and New Testament) plus allow you to study units (subjects) of your choice in the areas of theology, church history, missions, preaching and pastoral care. Studying the Diploma full-time will also provide you with the opportunity to concurrently do the SMBC Certificate in Bible and Mission (CBM). The CBM gives you access to all the benefits of SMBC’s expertise in spiritual formation, cross-cultural mission and pastoral ministry. It includes some extra classes, community activities, conferences and College Mission.

Entry requirements
- Completion of Year 12 with an ATAR of 65 or above
- OR Previous Qualifications: Successful completion of a qualification at AQF Level 5 or above
- OR Demonstrate Academic Suitability for course: Test, Brief Essay, or Interview.
- Language Qualifications for NESB: IELTS 6.5 overall with minimum of 6.0 in each subtest OR 10 years in Australia with English being the language primarily spoken both at home and work.
