Bachelor of Global Studies
La Trobe's Bachelor of Global Studies gives you a strong grounding in the issues facing key regions and countries around the world. We've designed this degree to introduce you to global problems and their policy responses, so you'll develop the tools to tackle the challenges of the future. Study core subjects examining the history of international relations and geopolitics, contemporary security issues - such as American power, the rise of China, contemporary armed conflict and terrorism - and the emerging challenges of human and environmental security. Look at international cooperation and conflict. Analyse the dynamics of power, sovereignty and security, exploring transformational changes in 21st century international relations. Investigate the powerful role of international law - including humanitarian, environmental and refugee law.

Structure
To qualify for the award of Bachelor of Global Studies, students must complete 360 credit points consisting of: 60 credit points of core 120 credit points of a Global Studies major The remaining 180 credit points (usually 12 x 15 credit point subjects) can be completed in a number of ways, for example: ; Electives ; One additional Global Studies major and electives ; One non-Global Studies major and electives ; Up to two minors and electives

Entry requirements
- Recent secondary education - VTAC prerequisite: Year 12 English prerequisite (20) - Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 25 in English (EAL) or at least 20 in English other than EAL.
- Non Year 12 - Vocational Education & Training: VET prerequisites - Course specific requirements - Subject proficiency: Demonstrated proficiency equivalent to stated Year 12 prerequisites.
- International: IELTS - 6.5 < 6.0 (PG minimum) - 6.5 IELTS (Academic) with no individual band less than 6.0.
