Bachelor of Social Work (Honours)/Law

This dual degree will equip you with the knowledge and skills to work in a variety of emerging areas that require an understanding of the law, social work theory and practice, social and behavioural sciences, community, family law and human relationships. The Bachelor of Social Work with Honours offers you an innovative and accredited program leading to eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW). Choose from a wide range of experiential learning opportunities and undertake an internship or clinical program at a law school that is renowned for social justice. In addition you will undertake two field placements in your Social Work program of study.

Entry requirements

Domestic: Year 12 or equivalent + LAT
International: Year 12 or equivalent.

Recognition

Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW). This program satisfies the basic academic requirements for admission to practice as a solicitor or barrister. If graduates wish to become a legal practitioner they must also attend a full-time practical course lasting 15 weeks at the College of Law and obtain practical experience.
