Undergraduate Certificate in Nursing Study Foundations

The Undergraduate Certificate in Nursing Study Foundations is designed for students who are new to university study or who may not yet meet the direct entry requirements for a Nursing degree. You’ll build foundational knowledge of nursing-related concepts, including human biology, health and illness, and the social factors that influence health outcomes, while developing the academic skills needed to succeed at university and progress to further study. This is a pathway program and does not lead to eligibility for registration as a nurse. Supported by the Study Start program, you’ll receive dedicated academic guidance to help you transition into higher education with confidence and prepare for a Bachelor of Nursing.

Structure

Delivered online, the Undergraduate Certificate in Nursing Study Foundations comprises three core subjects and one elective subject. Each subject requiring 10 hours of study per week (made up of classes and self-directed study). Assessments may include activity-based assignments or online quizzes.

Entry requirements

No minimum entry requirement or ATAR needed. As a pathway course, admission to this course is available to students who have not met the published requirements for admission into Torrens University undergraduate programs. Students will normally be required to complete a Readiness Assessment Test to determine their level of academic readiness for study.
