Master of Agricultural Science

The Master of Agricultural Science is designed for recent graduates in any field, those with a Graduate Certificate in Agricultural Science, and for established professionals wanting to upgrade their skills. Youll select from nearly 40 courses, allowing you to tailor your studies to suit your interests and career goals. You may also choose to undertake an independent research project to increase your technical and research skills working alongside some of the universitys leading academics and researchers or in an industry setting. Graduates demonstrate the ability to apply leadership, research and problem-solving skills to meet the global challenges associated with feeding the world, and maintaining our environment in situations of increasing community expectations of animal welfare, biosecurity concerns, and competition for limited resources. Structure

Complete 32 units for either of the following: 32 units for MAgrSc - 2 year duration, or 32 units for MAgrSc - 1.5 year duration (24 units of study and 8 units recognising your prior study and/or work experience)

Entry requirements

  • 2-year degree (32 units of study): To be eligible to complete the degree in 2 years full-time (or part-time equivalent), you'll need: A bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in any discipline, or a graduate certificate or graduate diploma in agricultural science, or to have successfully completed at least 3 years of study towards an approved qualification at an overseas partner institution, with a formal pathway to the Master of Agricultural Science. 1.5-year degree (24 units of study) If you have relevant prior learning or experience, you can reduce the number of courses you need to complete and graduate in less time. To be eligible to complete the degree in 1.5 years full-time (or part-time equivalent), you'll need: A bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in agricultural science, animal science, biological science, plant science, botany, horticulture or agronomy veterinary science, wildlife biology or zoology.
