The Master of Psychology (Clinical) prepares students for professional practice and to enter into a registrar program towards endorement as a clinical psychologist. The program is accredited by APAC and is an AQF level 9 qualification. Students who graduate from this course will be eligible for general registration as a psychologist through Ahpra and the Psychology Board of Australia upon which they can commence a registrar program towards endorsement as a clinical psychologist. The course consists of course work, practical placement, and research components. Course work in the first year of the program will provide students with the ground work and practice skills needed to commence their first placement typically at our affiliated ISN Clinic. The second year of the program has a strong focus on integration of clinical skills through additional placements and advanced course units. Students will complete a systematic review as part of the program in a clinically significant area of research.
Structure
- This Master course consists of 17 core units, designed around a full-time study load of two years including four 12 week semesters. Each unit is informed by cutting-edge best practice and taught, whenever possible, in a contemporary hybrid model combining online and in-person learning.
- Of those core units three focus on the completion of a systematic review in the form of a student research project, and three units prepare students for work as a clinical psychologist through in-clinic placements.

Standard entry requirements
- The minimum requirement for entry to the APAC accredited Master of Psychology (Clinical) course is based on academic achievement in an APAC accredited four-year sequence of study in psychology with greatest weighting given to the 4th year (Honours or Graduate Diploma). Students must have completed an APAC accredited 4th year of study and be eligible to register as a provisional psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA) to be considered for entry.
- Entry into the Master of Psychology (Clinical) course is competitive and requires consideration of academic results, relevant experience and the outcome of interviews/assessments.
- Additionally, candidates must meet minimum English language proficiency standards for entry to the Master of Psychology (Clinical) course.
- Students must also be able to abide by the inherent requirements stipulated by ISN Psychology.
- Applicants who can demonstrate that they are currently registered as a psychologist and complying with the CPD requirements of the Registration Board will be exempted from the aforementioned entry requirements and considered for entry into the postgraduate course based on experience in the field.
