This degree will prepare you for a career as a Clinical Psychologist. You will learn how to undertake psychological assessments, develop case conceptualisations, implement and evaluate interventions, apply research methodologies and engage in ethical professional practice.The program has been designed to meet the requirements for eligibility for full registration with the Psychology Board of Australia and entry to the Registrar program for the area of practice endorsement in clinical psychology. Completion of the degree also meets the requirements for associate membership of the Australian Psychological Society's College of Clinical Psychologists.Provisional Registration as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia. It is a requirement that students enrolled in this program have and maintain either provisional or full registration as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia via the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) for the duration of the program.

Study pathways

Students interested in the Master of Clinical Psychology may also wish to consider the Doctor of Philosophy in Clinical Psychology (6028). Both programs are designed for graduates to meet eligibility requirements for general registration as a psychologist, as well as eligibility to commence a clinical psychology registrar program for Area of Practice Endorsement. The Doctor of Philosophy in Clinical Psychology contains a substantially larger research component than the Master of Clinical Psychology program. It is not possible to transfer from the Master of Clinical Psychology to the Doctor of Clinical Psychology program once study has commenced.Students who complete the Master of Clinical Psychology program may also be interested in undertaking further research qualifications, through the Doctor of Philosophy (6001) program. The Doctor of Philosophy is a research only higher degree with a substantially larger research component than the Master of Clinical Psychology program.
