This course provides you with the opportunity to extend your understanding of project management by establishing a deep foundation knowledge base of the theoretical principles as well as the practical application of project management. The course consists of coursework that explores the principles of project management as based on recognised international standards, guidelines and frameworks. Examples of different project domains are explored through case studies. Each case study enables you to explore the application of project management closely aligned to your chosen career path. The course develops technical skills in the initiation, bidding, tendering, planning, design, procurement, execution, reporting, commissioning, hand over, and post project support of projects. Human skills in stakeholder management, communication, team building, negotiation, and the avocation of ongoing professional career development are integrated into the coursework material and assessments. Finally, the systems perspectives of project and program management are investigated with respect to the applications systems, information, and knowledge that is required to achieve effective project, program and portfolio management in modern organisations.
