Scholarships and financial assistance
There are plenty of costs associated with tertiary study: course fees, books and computer equipment are just a few. If you have additional expenses (such as rent if you need to live away from home), you may be wondering how you will manage on a limited student income.
If you need financial assistance, you generally have two options as a student:
- Scholarships
- Government allowances
- Financial assistance for research students
- Student loans
- Other loan schemes
There are also schemes in place to assist you with the cost of student services and amenities fees and studying overseas.
Your institution may also offer additional financial assistance options.
Our advice is to investigate your options the minute you begin searching for courses. With the amount of information to get through, it doesn't hurt to start early!
