How to take the pressure off your last year of school with Early Entry to the University of New England
Brought to you by the University of New England
What is Early Entry?
Applications for early entry are open now at the University of New England (UNE) for students in year 12. This is where you apply for university while still at school, and receive an offer directly from UNE based on the recommendation of your Principal or Careers Advisor. It’s also an option if you are sitting your full HSC at TAFE in NSW and the ACT, or fulltime TAFE Tertiary Preparation Certificate students.
Why consider Early Entry at UNE?
Early entry takes the pressure off your final exams and lets you enjoy your final year at school, knowing that you have secured your place at university and have a career path locked in. And don’t worry, if life gets in the way, the offer can be deferred for up to two years for most courses. You can select up to three course preferences, and offers are made based on the condition that you complete your final exams.
Book in your university accommodation at the same time
When you receive an early offer from the University of New England, you can also secure your accommodation at one of the residential colleges at the same time. At UNE’s Armidale campus, there are six residential colleges, each with their own unique vibe. Make the most of university life by living on campus and taking away the added worry of finding a place to live in a new city.
We know that the ATAR isn’t the only path to university
UNE has been offering early entry for more than 40 years, and was one of the first universities in Australia to offer it. We know from experience that the ATAR isn’t the only way to assess how successful you will be at university. We consider your school’s assessment of your attributes and abilities, your ability to work and learn independently, and your overall potential for academic success.
You can still apply for early entry for 2025
Applications are open until 14th October, so don’t miss out on securing your place for 2025! UNE is well known for our student support, flexibility, small class sizes and vibrant on campus experience for those who choose to live and learn at one of our colleges.
UNE is the only Australian public university awarded five stars for overall student experience by the Good Universities Guide for an incredible18 years in a row. Come and find out why!
