This program provides Registered Nurses with the theoretical knowledge and critical thinking skills to prepare them for advanced practice in the clinical setting. Students will be able to align their career goals with one of a number of professional pathways. Specialisations available include clinical leadership, clinical teaching, aged care, primary health care or research studies. Opportunities will be provided for students in their final sessions of study to synthesise and apply advanced nursing concepts through a capstone experience or research project relevant to their professional goals.

Standard entry requirements
- Registered Nurse (currently registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency - Nursing and Midwifery), or eligibility for same
- Or certificate of registration of nursing, within the last 5 years, in their own country and undergraduate degree in health-related sciences (AQF Level 7 or equivalent), in health science, human science, midwifery, naturopathy, nursing, nutrition, psychology.
Recognition
While the NSW Nurses' Registration Board and the NSW Nurses' Association encourage nurses to pursue appropriate postgraduate educational opportunities, professional certification or registration of nurses with this award is not required.
