This two year part-time program aims to provide professionals with the special skills and knowledge to develop, assess and evaluate fire safety engineering solutions for built environment. It covers fire safety science and engineering principles. It is relevant to professionals developing alternative solutions using the fire engineering guidelines to meet the objectives and performance requirements of building regulations. Although most units do not have compulsory attendance to workshops, there are a few exceptions where attendance and presentations are required.

Standard entry requirements

Undergraduate degree or higher, in engineering, building, construction, building surveying, bushfire protection, architecture or physical sciences or a Diploma or higher in engineering, building, construction, building surveying, bushfire protection, architecture or physical sciences plus 4ys FTE professional and/or voluntary work experience in the relevant fields in the building industry, local government or state fire services.
