The Master of Laws (LLM) by formal coursework offers law graduates the opportunity to acquire further expertise and enhance their career prospects. Courses are practical and applied and concentrate on law in action. Each course contains a significant research component.

Structure
48 units of credit (8 courses). To incorporate a specialisation into a Master of Laws by Coursework degree, students must choose 4 courses (24 UOC) from those allocated to that specialisation. The remaining courses may be selected from any of those offered by UNSW Law. The course may be taken full-time in 2 semesters or part-time in a minimum of 3 semesters.

- Students can choose from eight areas of specialisation or complete a generalist program and choose a mix of courses from any of our specialisations. To be awarded an LLM with a specialisation, students must successfully complete at least four courses in their chosen field. Areas of specialisation include: Chinese International Business & Economic Law
- Corporate, Commercial and Taxation Law
- Criminal Justice and Criminology
- Dispute Resolution
- Environmental Law and Sustainable Development
- Human Rights Law and Policy
- International LawMedia, Intellectual Property and Technology Law
Standard entry requirements
- LLB or JD - minimum credit average (65% or higher)
- OR LLB or JD with minimum two years' relevant professional experience. The UNSW English Language requirements also apply to this program.
