Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) - Mechanical Engineering

Mechanical engineers design, build, test and maintain all kinds of machines from robots to cars to space vehicles. They are continually designing, building and testing new forms of environmentally safe and sustainable technologies such as solar energy, solar vehicles, and wave and wind energy. In the first year of study, you will learn about engineering and its various fields. You then focus on your chosen major from the second year with the option to complete a double major; mechanical engineering and materials engineering, or mechanical engineering and mining engineering You can select electives from a number of specialist areas in your final year including sustainable energy and engineering systems, intelligent manufacturing, applied mechanics, robotics, automotive and bulk materials handling, and engineering management.
