We’re a young, fresh university driven by an unwavering belief that community and culture are just as important as a world-class education, given by world-class educators. We may not be the biggest university, but we’re growing every day and doing big things, such as ground-breaking research, championing sustainability and producing award-winning alumni.
Our first campus on the Sunshine Coast opened its doors in 1996. Today, we span five campuses across Southeast Queensland, with a network of teaching locations at the Sunshine Coast, Moreton Bay, the Fraser Coast, Caboolture and Gympie.

We’re proud of the study options we offer across more than 120 programs within 26 speciality areas, including environmental sciences, nursing, medical and mental health sciences, biological sciences, engineering, technology, psychology, agriculture, human studies and communication.

Sustainability is something we care about deeply at UniSC. We’re among the world’s best in higher education for our work in conserving underwater life and protecting land life. We’re incredibly proud of our environmental focus, especially so considering our unique geographical location. Queensland houses the only stretch of three continuous UNESCO Biosphere Reserves, and all are UniSC campus locations. This means UniSC is the world’s only university operating within three interconnecting biosphere reserves, including the world heritage listed K’gari (Fraser Island).
