It is designed for those interested in the application of linguistic principles to educational and other professional areas. Applied linguistics is a rapidly developing field in its own right. This program is suitable for those interested in teaching English to speakers of other languages (TESOL), second language teaching (SLT), and the teaching of modern languages, particularly Korean and Japanese. The latter are taught jointly with the School of Asian Studies.
