This program covers the structure and function of animals, their management and welfare in an agricultural, para-veterinary, laboratory or wildlife context. This flexible applied science program can be to be tailored to students' specific interests in the field of animal science. The course emphasises the development of analytical, quantitative, computing and communication skills, as well as practical animal handling and management. A research project in the fourth year allows students to study an area of animal science in depth. Part-time study, daytime only, may be available.

Standard entry requirements
- Year 12 or equivalent
- Assumed knowledge: Mathematics and Chemistry
- Selection via ATAR or approved university preparation course. From 2019, this course will require a course prerequisite of Mathematics (Band 4 or higher). The assumed knowledge will still apply. Recommended studies: Biology. If students are from a rural area, they may be eligible to apply for the Rural Students Entry Scheme.

Practical experience: 60 days of approved professional experience and field excursions. Students are responsible for additional costs, including travel.
