University of South Australia
The grant will assist students who are enrolled full-time in the final year of an undergraduate or postgraduate degree and are undertaking a placement in a rural or remote area of South Australia as part of their program to gain professional experience. Applicants must undertake the placement for a minimum of 2 consecutive weeks in the year that they apply for the grant. Please note that the grant will not be awarded retrospectively. The written statement should also detail the expected weekly expenses to be incurred while the student is on placement and if applicable the expected loss of income during that time. Applicants should provide documentary evidence of financial disadvantage where possible e.g. Youth Allowance statement, copy of Health Care Card. Students who are in receipt, in the same year, of any other Placement Grant administered by the University of South Australia or are receiving financial assistance from the University Department of Rural Health are not eligible to apply.
