This degree allows you to delve into two distinct yet complementary disciplines when you study a double major. You will develop in-depth knowledge in your chosen specialisations, enhancing your critical thinking, research capabilities and problem-solving skills. You will also graduate with writing, presentation, digital, and communication skills that can be transferred across a range of roles and are highly regarded by prospective employers. Under the guidance of world-class researchers1, you will choose two majors from the following: Aboriginal Studies; Applied Linguistics; Cultural Studies; Creative Writing and Literature; History and Global Politics; Languages; (French/Italian/Japanese); Law, Policy and Politics; Psychology; Sociology; Criminology and Criminal Justice (new in 2024).

Entry requirements

  • Meet any prerequisite requirements with a minimum grade of C- or equivalent AND Qualify for the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE), and achieved a competitive Selection Rank (ATAR), or Complete secondary qualifications equivalent to SACE, or Complete the International Baccalaureate Diploma with a minimum score of 24 points Applicants who have not achieved the Selection Rank required for automatic selection may be selected for any remaining places based on the grades of their year 12 subjects.

Study Pathways

Students who finish their degree with a credit or higher Grade Point Average (GPA) could be eligible for the one-year Bachelor of Arts (Honours) and may be able to continue studies with a Master of Teaching and teach in Australia and overseas. Students can also complete their studies at the innovative James Morrison Academy of Music in Mount Gambier.
