Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science, Bachelor of Nutrition and Food Sciences double degree provides students with expertise in the areas of exercise and sport science, and nutrition and food science. The exercise and sport science component provides students with the knowledge to provide counselling to athletes, enhanced rehabilitation services, and to improve the physical and mental wellbeing of the population. The nutrition and food science component allows students to become an expert in all aspects of nutrition and food sciences and be ready to improve the health, fitness and wellbeing of the community.

Entry Requirements:

Qualify for South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE) with competitive ATAR; or complete secondary education equivalent to SACE; complete International Baccalaureate Diploma; complete or partially complete higher education program; complete four Open Universities Australia courses at undergraduate level or above; qualify for special entry; complete an award from a registered training organisation at Diploma level or above; complete a Foundation Studies program; and meet any pre-requisite and academic requirements. International students who speak English as a foreign language must have obtained the required standards prior to admission.


144 units; 8 Exercise and Sport Science courses; 11 core Human Movement courses; 13 courses in foundation and advanced level Nutrition.

Study Pathways:

Students who complete their degree with a credit or higher grade point average (GPA) may be eligible for the one-year Bachelor of Health Science (Honours).

Further information:

Students undertaking activities where interaction with patients/the public is required, such as in field or clinical placements/visits and in University clinics and gyms, must demonstrate that they have a current National Police Clearance and a current National Criminal History Record Check (Child-Related Clearance) from the Department for Communities and Social Inclusion (DCSI) valid for the duration of the program. Students must also have a 'Provide First Aid Certificate', Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certificate (CPR) and Mandatory Notification Training Certificate, prior to the commencement of any field placement.


This program offers eligibility to apply for membership as an accredited exercise scientist with Exercise and Sports Science Australia and register with the Nutrition Society Australia.
