This program provides students with fundamental knowledge about human resource management (HRM). It has been designed to meet the needs of those people wanting to become successful human resource professionals, as well as those who are responsible for managing people and who are concerned with designing, implementing and maintaining HRM practices within their workplaces. The units making up the program provide students with the opportunity to apply current theory relevant to HRM to their workplace through assessment activities.

Entry Requirements:

Relevant Bachelor degree plus at least 2 years of full-time equivalent relevant professional experience; hold Advanced Diploma in a relevant discipline from a Registered Training Organisation plus at least four years of full-time equivalent professional experience; or at least 5 years of full-time equivalent professional experience. All applicants must submit two referee reports from employers or senior colleagues (on company letterhead) plus a resume. Relevant professional experience refers to a position of responsibility in any organisational or industry context.


24 credit points (equivalent to 4 standard units) including core units and a choice of listed units. Non-mandatory intensive schools are available for some units in this course.

College accommodation

UNE’s residential accommodation currently consists of eight colleges and a village of self-contained units. Accommodation ranges from the more traditional college with meals included and shared bathroom facilities, to the more independent, self-contained flats at Wright Village and UNE’s new Wright College , which provides modern studio apartments complete with your own kitchen and bathroom facilities.
