Awarded to Australian Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people to undertake a higher degree by research (Masters by Research (MPhil), or PhD) at The University of Queensland.

Eligibility

To be eligible you must be: an Australian Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander; studying full-time and onshore in Australia; nominated by an enrolling school or institute at UQ; assessed by the Graduate School as meeting all conditions for admission to the higher degree by research program; not hold a qualification at the same or a higher level than the higher degree by research program they are undertaking; not be receiving a living allowance award, scholarship or salary providing a benefit greater than 75 per cent of the RTP Scholarship living allowance rate to undertake the higher degree by research program; not be receiving a Commonwealth funded tuition fee scholarship.

Amount $37,082

Living allowance of $37,082 per annum (2018 rate), indexed annually, tuition fees. The scholarship duration for PhD is 3 years, with two possible extensions of 6 months. The scholarship duration for MPhil is 2 years.
