This postgraduate research degree includes coursework and a substantial research component culminating in the submission of a thesis. You may undertake the course in either a full-time or a part-time capacity; the standard time for completion is usually 18 months for a full-time student and three years for a part-time student. The coursework consists of four compulsory research training courses (Quantitative Research Methods, Qualitative Research Methods, Scholarly Reading and Writing and Developing a Research Proposal), which are prerequisites for your research project. These courses will provide opportunities to formulate substantial elements of your planned research project and develop necessary skills in critical analysis and scholarly writing.
Structure
Up to 100 units of credit comprising RSCH7003 (or equivalent unit approved by the NationalHead of School) and up to three 25 units of credit of research training coursework coursesas decided in consultation with the National Head of School or delegate.A minimum of a credit average in the coursework courses is required to maintain satisfactoryprogress in the degree.RSCH7003 (or equivalent course approved by the National Head of School) must becompleted with at least a credit grade in the first semester of full-time or equivalentenrolment.Supervised Research courses totaling 200 units of credit.
