This program was developed in partnership with the Fremantle health service and other participating health services to provide a career pathway for registered nurses to gain postgraduate qualifications in the perioperative area of nursing. The program was created to be attractive to current or newly employed perioperative nurses who wish to gain a specialty qualification that articulates with the Master of Nursing. The program aims to provide current practising perioperative nurses with opportunities to advance their current practice, and develop knowledge and consolidate skills to function as a specialist within the perioperative field. The program will take a blended learning approach drawing on a range of healthcare experts with a focus on evidence-based and best practice developing the student along the Bennerian continuum from novice to expert.

The following entry requirements apply to this program: Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia or provisional registration, whichever is applicable at the time of commencement Nursing of other appropriate degree or the equivalent Minimum of one year relevant post registration nursing experience Candidates must be employed with a participating health service provider and have their hospital's support to undertake the program.
