This program was developed at the request of health services as a career pathway for newly qualified registered nurses in their graduate year. A working party established the curriculum partnership to ensure congruence between academic and clinical input with adherence to the graduate attributes and RN competency standards. The program aims at developing clinical confidence in decision-making and enhancing clinical skills and knowledge in the registered nurse from advanced beginner to proficient practitioner. Only available to new graduates employed in the health service, the student will be supported by clinical educators to use critical and reflective thinking and decision-making processes to assess, plan, implement and evaluate their nursing care practices and patient safety and quality of care.

Standard entry requirements
- The following entry requirements apply to this Program: Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia or provisional registration
- Whichever is applicable at the time of commencement. Nursing or other appropriate degree or the equivalent. Candidates must be employed in a graduate position with a participating health service provider and have their hospital's support to undertake the program.
