The Bachelor of Advertising and Public Relations combines two of the most fundamental communication activities of organisations today. People working in advertising and public relations need to understand both the creative and business needs of their clients. Corporations and communication agencies are seeking graduates with artistic and managerial skills. By combining these two disciplines, students receive a greater level of specialisation thereby strengthening their qualifications and employment prospects in these dynamic fields. The program covers consumer behaviour, integrated marketing communications, media planning and analysis as well as production processes. It also equips students with skills to help enhance an organisation
Structure
- Must complete a minimum of 600 Units of Credit
- 50 Units of Credit from two (2) Core Curriculum Courses
- 200 Units of Credit from eight (8) compulsory Business Foundation Courses
- 275 Units of Credit from eleven (11) compulsory Advertising and Public Relations Courses
- 25 Units of Credit from one (1) Advertising and Public Relations elective course
- 25 Units of Credit from one (1) required course
- 25 Units of Credit from BUSN3900 Business Internship.
Standard entry requirements
- Applicants with recent Secondary Education: HSC Performance Band Results with a Band 4 in English and a minimum average of Band 4s in HSC Category A Courses (or interstate equivalent). Applicants must be eligible for an ATAR or OP
- Minimum International Baccalaureate (IB) score of 25. Applicants with Higher Education Study: Other university studies completed at undergraduate level or higher. Programs in Arts & Sciences and Business require a minimum of 2 successfully completed subjects. Programs in Education, Nursing, and Philosophy & Theology require a minimum of 4 successfully completed subjects
- Or Successful completion of the Notre Dame Tertiary Pathway Program or of another Enabling Program at a level deemed sufficient by the University. Applicants who have successfully completed subjects at another University, which are relevant to the selected program of study, may be eligible for Advanced Standing. Applicants with Vocational Education and Training (VET) study: Completed AQF Certificate IV or higher in a relevant discipline, from an accredited provider such as TAFE or a Registered Training Organisation (RTO)
- Applicants to the School of Education require a completed AQF Diploma or higher in a relevant discipline.
