SEDA Group is a leader in applied learning and is passionate about setting students up for a successful future in the Sport and Business industry. We deliver programs in Victoria, New South Wales and Western Australia designed for Year 12 graduates interested in a career in sport and business – no ATAR required.
Students who study at SEDA will connect and learn from industry experts, coaches and elite athletes while also gaining real-world work experience. Our programs are designed in collaboration with our industry partners to develop your skills and knowledge across a variety of areas including sponsorship, leadership, project and event management, sport psychology, and marketing and entrepreneurship.
The skills and knowledge developed within the program will allow you to gain meaningful insights into a range of roles and careers within the elite sports industry.
While completing your studies, you will be given tailored support to prepare for your future pathway of further study or employment.
Study Options
Each of our Sport & Business Programs are a one-year Dual Diploma program delivered and assessed by SEDA Group* comprising the SIS50321 Diploma of Sport, and the BSB50120 Diploma of Business^.
Program includes:
- specialisations in Sport Development and Coaching, including the requirements to satisfy the SISSS00116 High Performance Coach skill set
- four days of face-to-face training and assessment, inclusive of facilitated online delivery for some study areas
- an opportunity to participate in up to 80 hours of practical placement in industry
- high-performance athlete development sessions
- access to industry-leading facilities to complete practical sessions.
*SEDA Group (RTO 22503) is responsible for the training and assessment and the issuance of AQF certification documents.

Admission & Selection

To enrol into a SEDA Group Program you will need to have successfully completed Year 12 or approved equivalent (no ATAR is required). Applications are made online via seda.edu.au. Once an application has been made, applicants must:
- successfully complete a pre-training review, and Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) test issued by SEDA
- attend an interview and provide supporting evidence
- provide necessary evidence of eligibility.
Individuals under the age of 18 must have gained parental/guardian consent to undertake the program. Please note that admission to the program is not dependent on sporting ability.
Tertiary Pathways
Graduates of a SEDA Group Sport & Business Program can gain direct entry* into a range of courses with leading tertiary education providers.
In some cases, graduates will also receive credit points towards the number of units or subjects a student is required to complete in a course. The number of credits a SEDA graduate can receive per course will vary between each education provider.
