Accounting, economics or finance are ideal business majors to accompany your mathematics degree, as you will learn how to undertake the sophisticated economic and financial modelling that is integral to business and government decision making. Your mathematics degree will prepare you for a career in finance, investment, information technology, environmental management, health, marketing, logistics, defence, media, education and research. Graduates are highly valued for their analytical and problem-solving skills. Development of skills in communication, problem solving, critical thinking and teamwork form an integral part of the course.

Structure

Students are required to complete 384 credit points comprised of 192 credit points from the Bachelor of Mathematics program and 192 credit points from the Bachelor of Business program.

Standard entry requirements

  • Year 12, or equivalent
  • Before you start this course, we assume you have sound knowledge of the subject/s listed below. If you don't have the subject knowledge, you can still apply for the course but we strongly encourage you to undertake bridging studies to gain the knowledge: English, or Literature, or English and Literature Extension, or English as an Additional Language (Units 3 & 4, C). Mathematical Methods, or Specialist Mathematics (Units 3 & 4, C)
