Montessori World Educational Institute (Australia) Inc
Established in 1983, the Montessori Institute offers a variety of Montessori training options to those interested in becoming a Montessori teacher, assistant or child care educator. The Montessori Institute offers the only accredited post graduate level Montessori qualification in Australia, the Graduate Diploma of Education (Montessori). This Initial Teacher Education (ITE) course will enable graduates to gain teacher registration nationally for Montessori or mainstream teaching. It is also recognised by ACECQA as an Early Childhood Teacher (ECT) qualification. The accredited Diploma of Education (Montessori) (3-6 or 6-12) is recognised by ACECQA as an Early Childhood qualification (3-6 only) and is suitable for those who already have teacher registration and want to teach in a Montessori school or for those who need a Diploma level qualification for work in childcare or as an assistant in a school. The non-accredited Diploma in Montessori Studies 3-6 or 6-12 years course offers an excellent grounding in curriculum studies for those who do not need an accredited courses (e.g. already registered teachers or assistants with EA qualifications). As a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) we also offer the national minimum qualification for childcare, the CHC30121 CERT III in Early Childhood Education and Care (Montessori) and the CHC50121 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care (Montessori). Montessori theory and curriculum workshops are open to anyone interested in learning more about Montessori education. Applicants do not need to be students to attend. Courses are offered via external study and face-to-face intensive block workshops. Workshops are held in most states at weekends or during school holidays.
