Bachelor of Pharmacy (Honours)

Monash University

From 2017, domestic students may only enrol in this degree through the graduate entry pathway, which is open to students who already have a bachelor degree in a related field such as biomedical science or science, and allows entry into the third year of the course. If students are not a graduate in a related field, they can enrol in the new double degree, the integrated Bachelor of Pharmacy (Hons)/ Master of Pharmacy. If students are an international student, they may enrol in either degree. This course aims to give students the knowledge, experience and expertise needed to make a difference from the moment they graduate as a medicines expert and healthcare professional. The course incorporates innovative technology, such as MyDispense, a safe environment to learn about interacting with patients and other health professionals when dispensing medicines, and Pharmville, a whole database of fictional patients with 'real' health needs. Students gain work experience in hospitals, community pharmacies and rural settings; some students have worked with the Royal Flying Doctor Service or students might choose the International Experience Elective to practice pharmacy in the UK, USA or Singapore. Pharmacists make a difference to people's health in hospitals, aged-care facilities, local communities both locally and globally.
