At MIT, we encourage our students to become independent learners. But we provide various innovative student support programs such as flipped classrooms, INSPIRE program, and Peer Mentoring program. Our small class sizes mean students can get more one-on-one contact with academic staff, plus they get all the support they need to get the best out of their studies. Our support services have been rated above the national average by the Australian Quality Indicator for Learning and Teaching (QILT) in the past few years. It is a testament to our commitment to our students.
Why study with us
We offer quality, niche educational offerings that are in demand in the industry. Not many courses mean more focus and resources to upgrade and bring innovative curricula such as Cyber Security, Data mining, cloud computing, Artificial Intelligence, digital marketing and ethical hacking. Moreover, our curriculum encompasses student-centred pedagogies such as flipped classroom, problem-based learning and case studies — methods to encourage students to become active learners, critical thinkers and foster a strong student-teacher relationship. This engagement ultimately improves students’ academic success.
We recognise every student is unique, and learning styles can differ widely. Hence, we employ evidence-based pedagogy approaches through an innovative program called InSPIRE, which identifies where students are in their learning. Appropriate teaching strategies and interventions are then tailored to challenge each student. Their progress is continually monitored, which in turn evaluates teaching effectiveness to optimise students' learning.
At MIT, we have a strong commitment to providing each of our students with practical skills and knowledge to ensure they graduate job-ready. Hence, our curriculum is embedded with a Work-Integrated Learning component in every one of our courses. Undertaking work with industry through internships or industry projects can lead to work opportunities as many of our students have found out — sometimes before they have finished their courses. This is a testament to MIT's quality education and industry engaging curriculum.

Admission & Selection
At MIT, we know that study and life is more than an ATAR score. This is why we look beyond your ATAR, and we do not need an ATAR calculator. We value passion, perseverance, determination and your desire to succeed.
Our focus is your success; this is why all our courses have Work Integrated Learning embedded as part of your formal qualification. This will ensure you are 'work-ready' by the time you graduate. We want you to succeed.
Since ATAR is not an indicator of success, we have waived our ATAR requirement. We have made it simple: we look at your English and/or Maths score as a base, and if you qualify, we have a spot for you. Plus, we’re offering scholarships for students who put MIT as their number one preference at VTAC. We call it 'Beyond the ATAR' Scholarships.
