This is a postgraduate AQF level-8 qualification for registered nurses who have completed a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent Or a three-year diploma in nursing. This is one of the most popular courses in IHM; hundreds of overseas nurses who have completed this course have met the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency’s Australian nursing registration qualification eligibility requirements to work as a registered nurse in Australia by completing the new nursing registration process for Internationally Qualified Registered Nurses, called Outcomes-based Assessment (OBA).
Standard entry requirements
To be considered for admission to the GCN course, an Australian resident student or international student must meet the following requirements:;Be a registered nurse with their country of origin or practice’s nursing board;Hold a minimum of one year of experience as a Registered Nurse – 3 years Diploma holders;Experience is not mandatory for Bachelors’s degree-qualified nurses;Attend an interview with a member of the academic faculty at IHM;Provide evidence of a minimum IELTS score of 6.5 with no band lower than 6, or comparable OET/PTE scores;Students who do not have a valid English language exam score may take the IHM’s online English language test and meet the required pass mark (*applicable for online students only);For GCN On campus-;IELTS: Overall 6.5 and no band less than 6.0;PTE: Overall 56 and no band less than 46;OET: B for each test component;For GCN Online-;IELTS: Overall 6.5 and no band less than 6.0;PTE: Overall 56 and no band less than 46;OET: IELTS equivalent score;IHM internal test:No module less than 70%;
