The course is only available part-time. The course was developed in collaboration with the Council of Remote Area Nurses of Australia (now CRANA Plus) building on work with the National Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (NACCHO), the services for Australian Rural and Remote Allied health (SARRAH) and the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM). The course articulates with the 36 unit Graduate Diploma in Remote Health Practice and the 54 unit Master of Remote and Indigenous Health, and the sequentially developed topics enable progression through the three awards.
Structure
Students complete two core (compulsory) topics and two option topics chosen from a list of option topics aimed at providing students with the knowledge and skills to implement health care services as beginning remote health practitioners within a framework of cultural safety and primary health care.

Standard entry requirements
Applicants must normally hold an approved degree or equivalent qualification from an approved tertiary institution in a health related field. However, the Dean (Education) may, under certain circumstances and subject to specific conditions, admit others who can show evidence of fitness for candidature.
