Structure

Students complete eleven core (compulsory) and one option topic aimed at providing students with the understanding, and skills in person-centred behavioural health counselling to improve physical and mental health outcomes for individuals.

Entry requirements

  • Applicants must normally hold a bachelor degree or equivalent qualification in a health-related discipline such as behavioural science, counselling, medicine, midwifery, nursing, occupational therapy, psychology or social workor hold the Graduate Diploma in Counselling (Behaviour Health) or equivalent qualification.

Recognition

This course is accredited by the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA) and the Australian Counselling Association (ACA).

Study Pathways

The University may, under certain circumstances and subject to specific conditions, consider applicants who do not hold a bachelor degree or equivalent but can demonstrate relevant higher education study with relevant work experience, or relevant work experience which may meet the requirements for entry into the course.
