This degree offers an accelerated undergraduate nursing program of study and aims to prepare students to become nurses who have a clear understanding of the professional requirement to be a nurse, are reflective about their practice and have well-developed clinical reasoning skills. This is a 2-year course or equivalent part-time.

Structure
The program is highly structured and combines clinical practice with topics addressing ethics, law, psychosocial health, mental health, Indigenous health, evidence-based practice and the biophysical sciences. All students are required to undertake clinical placements which may include morning and evening shifts, and are undertaken in agencies and hospitals throughout metropolitan and rural South Australia.

Entry requirements
- Applicants must hold a bachelor degree or equivalent qualification and have successfully completed 4.5 units (1 topic) (0.125 Full-Time Equivalent) of study focused on an understanding of body structures and function, such as human biology, anatomy or physiology. Applicants that have a completed Bachelor of Nursing must not be currently eligible for registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) as a registered nurse. Selection is based on academic merit.
Recognition
Graduates of this course are eligible to apply to the Australian Heath Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) for registration with the NMBA as a registered nurse.
