Structure

In the first year, students complete core topics in electronics, professional skills, engineering design, engineering programming, engineering physics and materials, engineering mechanics, and mathematics. In the second year, students have a choice of 4 majors: Advanced Electrical Engineering, Advanced Electronic Engineering, Computer and Network Systems, and Electronic Systems and Security. Students complete a 20-week industry placement in the third year and a research project in the fourth year.

Entry requirements

  • This course can be applied for using Year 12, TAFE qualifications, the Special Tertiary Admissions Test (STAT), the Flinders Foundation Studies Program and Tertiary Transfer. Prerequisites: SACE stage two specialist mathematics or mathematical methods or equivalent. Assumed knowledge: knowledge of SACE stage two physics or equivalent is assumed.
