The purpose of the Western Power Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Scholarship is to support and encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students undertaking either an Undergraduate Degree, in either their second year or higher, or Postgraduate Degree in eligible courses listed below. The successful recipient will receive $5000 (prorated for part time study) per semester for the duration of the course up to 3 years. Scholars will be eligible for work placements and other relevant support offered by Western Power.
Eligibility Requirements
be of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent; be enrolled in an eligible Undergraduate Degree having completed a minimum of 120 credit points OR be enrolled in an eligible Postgraduate Degree as listed below; have and maintain an academic progression status of GREEN; be enrolled and remain enrolled in a minimum of 30 credit points (part-time will be paid pro rata); reside in Western Australia for the duration of the degree; agree to consider completion of at least one period of vacation employment at Western Power and; not be in receipt of another scholarship valued at $5000 or over per year.
