This course is designed for eligible students who do not have experience/knowledge in the Mining Engineering discipline, wishing to embark on a journey to obtain specialist skills and knowledge relating to the mining industry and in particular, become familiar with the mining engineering methods. It prepares students for positions in the mining industry, both operational and management, underground work and partially satisfies the admission criteria for the Postgraduate Diploma in Mining. Students who intend to submit this course award in support of any application towards a State recognised qualification or professional recognition (Mining or Mine Surveying) should confirm the suitability of the course and core units directly with the relevant State Authority or Professional Body prior to enrolment.
