The English Language Enabling (ELE) course has been designed to prepare pathway students for tertiary study in an English language speaking environment. The ELE course provides instruction and practice in the use of academic language, skills and conventions. It also helps the students to familiarise themselves with the university academic environment.

Standard entry requirements

This course is only available for domestic students with an offer from Curtin University for an undergraduate or postgraduate course. Students with an IELTS overall score 1.0 band below Curtins English language entry requirement will need to complete a 17 week program. Students with an overall IELTS score of 0.5 below Curtins entry requirement will be admitted to a 10 week program. Gateway students will complete a 16 week program. Students with an overall IELTS score of 0.5 in one band only below Curtins entry requirement will complete a 2 week program.
