This course is a unique four-year combined bachelor degree and postgraduate diploma designed to develop clinical skills. Year 12 or equivalent. English language requirements apply.
Recognition
The Bachelor of Medical Sonography and Graduate Diploma of Medical Sonography is accredited by the Australasian Sonographer Accreditation Registry (ASAR). Students must complete both parts of the program to gain accreditation. The external accreditation body Australian Sonographer Accreditation Registry sets the maximum time that individuals may be on the ASAR Registry as a Student Sonographer. This has been set at five years from the date of initial entry onto the registry, meaning students must complete the program of study within five years of student registration date in order to qualify as an accredited Sonographer.

Some units have compulsory residential schools. Students must undertake 2000 hours of clinical placement. Some units within the course are only available to study online.
