This dual degree provides students with skills that are highly regarded in both the private and public sectors. Students develop the technical skills needed for a successful career in accounting, law and business, as well as generic skills that can apply to both students' personal and professional life. CQUniversity's education and training will include jurisprudence and criminal, constitutional, administrative, corporations and revenue law. In addition students will focus on the key principles of accounting, financial accounting, management accounting and business finance. Students benefit from developing a sound understanding of both disciplines and the relationship between accounting and the legal profession, making them more versatile and attractive to employers. CQUniversity works closely with leading professional bodies to ensure this course remains up-to-date and relevant to the latest industry needs and expectations, enabling students to be work ready when they graduate.

Entry Requirements:

QTAC: English (4/SA); UAC: English (Standard, Band 2); VTAC: Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 25 in any English. English language requirements apply.

Study Pathways:

Students who achieve a grade point average of 5/7 (75 per cent) in the third level of the Bachelor of Laws program, including a 6 or better level pass in at least one course, may wish to complete the Bachelor of Laws (Honours). Students may further their studies through postgraduate course work including Graduate Certificate courses in Business Administration, Graduate Diploma in Professional Accounting and Master of Business Administration.

Further information:

The Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Accounting is an approved academic qualification for admission to the legal profession. The course is accredited by the Certified Practising Accountant Australia and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and meets the membership requirements of the Institute of Public Accountants (IPA) - Restricted Member IPA status. These organisations accredit each campus individually. Please check the current status of accreditation for your desired study location.
