At CQUniversity Australia, our students choose to study with us so they can be what they want to be. We have one of the largest national footprints of any university in Australia, and proudly offer a wide variety of TAFE and university qualifications with a focus on practical learning.

As well as our ratings from The Good Universities Guide, we've been recognised globally for our strong reputation in graduate employability1, social innovation2 and sustainability3.

We believe higher education should be for everyone, and we're proud to support some of the highest ratios of students from disadvantaged, mature age, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, and first-in-family backgrounds.

Study with confidence at a uni recognised for world-class research in 22 different research categories. This includes the highest rating 'well above world standard' in various mathematics, psychology, engineering and science categories4.

Study on campus

Whether you prefer the bustling city life or the relaxed pace of a regional town, you’ll find a CQUniversity location to suit your lifestyle. Apply to study in Adelaide, Brisbane, Broome, Bundaberg, Busselton, Cairns, Emerald, Gladstone, Mackay, Melbourne, Rockhampton, Sydney or Townsville.

We also partner with multiple Regional University Centres in NSW, SA and WA, providing further access to quality education in these remote areas.

Study online

With over 40 years’ experience in distance education and over half of our Australian students choosing to complete their studies online, CQUniversity offers a quality virtual learning experience.

As a CQUniversity online student, you’ll enjoy the same high standard of education, student support and digital resources as on-campus students. Plus, if you live near a CQUniversity campus you’ll have access to on-campus facilities, support services and events. You may even be able to mix on-campus and online learning throughout your degree.

The CQUniversity student experience

Learn from our award-winning and experienced teaching professionals, and benefit from our focus on student services and support. Our small class sizes mean you’ll have excellent access to your lecturer and be able to build supportive relationships with classmates.

Our courses are designed alongside industry, and many include hands-on learning experiences to ensure you graduate with practical, job-ready skills. Many CQUniversity courses provide opportunities to complete field and laboratory work, project-based learning, internships and work placements.

Student support services will help you transition to university life during orientation and offer ongoing assistance throughout your studies. Access academic support, student mentors, counselling services, course advice, career-planning services, support for students with disability or medical conditions, Indigenous student support, financial support options and more.

Benefit from our wide range of scholarships, bursaries and awards providing both opportunities and financial support. While some of our scholarships are awarded on academic merit, others focus on a wide range of criteria, such as course of study, home location, commitment to community engagement and income status.

Social Innovation

CQUniversity teaches every student social innovation skills to enable you to improve the lives of people and their environments through innovative solutions to complex social challenges.

Your CQUniversity degree will offer you more than the confidence to create positive change, but also equip you with job‑ready skills including resilience, collaborative leadership, and creative problem solving.
