Certificate III in Cabinet Making

This qualification is part of the Furnishing Training Package. It covers the skills and knowledge required to perform a range of skills at trade-level for those working in furniture making and those involved in the manufacture and installation of fitted furniture typically in a kitchen, bathroom and related context. Installation skills may be applied to new or renovation work. The work is in a defined range of skilled operations, usually within a range of broader related activities involving known routines, methods and procedures, where some discretion and judgement is required in the selection of equipment, services or contingency measures and within known time constraints.

Year 10 or an apprenticeship contract

Chisholm is one of the largest providers of education and training in Victoria. The Institute was named in 1998, in honour of Caroline Chisholm, the early Australian reformer and humanitarian. Chisholm's modern campuses in the southeast of Melbourne are at: Dandenong (two locations), Frankston, Berwick, Cranbourne, Mornington Peninsula and Bass Coast as well as two new facilities in the centre of Melbourne. Currently, Chisholm offers over 280 accredited, nationally recognised courses from certificates to bachelor degrees and graduate certificates - including its own degrees and partnership degrees with La Trobe University. It also runs approximately 140 short courses for work skills (industry compliance and skills development), as well as lifestyle (self-improvement, recreation and hobby).
