Phoebe Woodward
Womindjika,
I’m a marketing officer for the Australian Apprenticeships and Traineeships Information Service (AATIS). My role includes creating marketing and social content for the AAPathways website and associated projects. I studied Business Marketing at RMIT University in Melbourne, while also completing additional undergraduate degrees in Advanced Marketing, Economics and Finance.
After completing my degree, I was on the hunt for a ‘big kid’ job. On Seek I found a position vacancy through Maxima Recruitment. The role was for an Indigenous Graduate Marketing Officer. As a proud Dja Wurrung woman, I decided to apply. The interview process involved four interviews: two with Maxima Recruitment and two with the AATIS team. After two weeks of waiting, I received a call from the AATIS team and was informed they had chosen me for the job. I was absolutely ecstatic.
My role as Marketing Officer is wonderful and fulfilling. I have been offered so many opportunities to grow and learn, not only professionally but also as a person. One of my favourite things about my role is travelling to film videos for ATTIS’ MyGain YouTube channel. In this part of my role, I get to meet incredible people and hear their Australian Apprenticeships stories. Another amazing part about my job is the people I work with. I have made so many genuine friendships and it’s fantastic to see such a dynamic team inspiring and supporting each other.
