The Graduate Diploma in Work Health and Safety develops knowledge and skills in the scientific, behavioural, legal and business aspects of Work Health and Safety. This course is underpinned with the theme of providing the science behind policy and practice and involves opportunities for students to network with industry representatives and participate in work health and safety teams through practicum placement. The course is taught with sufficient content to satisfy the requisite knowledge for professional membership in a number of organisations. Two of the core units have unit prerequisites that may require an applicant to undertake a bridging unit(s). Students may enter the course without the prerequisites, but must have completed the prerequisite requirements prior to enrolment in either of the core units: PHYS5405 Radiation Safety (a pass in WACE physics, or equivalent; or completion of a foundation general physics unit at tertiary level); CHEM4309 Occupational hygiene and chemical safety (a pass in WACE chemistry, or equivalent; or completion of a foundation general chemistry unit at tertiary level).

Entry Requirements:

A Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Engineering, or Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery or an equivalent qualification, as recognised by UWA; or a bachelor's degree, or an equivalent qualification, as recognised by UWA; and at least two years of full-time relevant professional experience. English language requirements apply.
