Entry Requirements:

Completed and conferred in past 10 years a recognised Bachelor degree or higher from an Australian or New Zealand higher education institution; minimum Grade Point Average of 5 (credit average); successfully completed in last 10 years prerequisite courses from a recognised higher education institution. International students who speak English as a foreign language must have obtained the required standard within the last 2 years prior to admission; applications are considered on an individual basis and selection is competitive.

Applicants who are overseas trained physiotherapists are eligible to apply for Australian registration through the 'Assessment for Registration Purposes' by the Australian Physiotherapy Council are not eligible to apply for this program. Under the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law (South Australia), all students enrolled in a program leading to professional registration must be registered with the relevant National Board. The registration process is undertaken by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with the University providing notification to AHPRA following a student's enrolment in the program. No fee applies for student registration. Participation is obligatory in selected practical classes which require appropriate disrobing when acting as clients with the peer group, and physically handling patients including lifting and supporting people with disabilities.


Successful completion of the program is accepted for membership of the Australian Physiotherapy Association. The program is accredited by the Australian Physiotherapy Council and satisfies the academic requirements for registration as a physiotherapist with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia.
