This program qualifies individuals who apply an advanced body of knowledge and specialist theoretical framework in professional design, communication, project management and research skills in response to the increasing demands and complexities of interior design practice in multi-disciplinary project teams in professional practice or scholarship, and as a pathway for further learning.

Entry Requirements:

Completed Bachelor degree from a recognised higher education institution, or equivalent, in a related discipline; International students who speak English as a foreign language must have obtained the required standards within the last two years.

Structure:

72 units; 36 units design research studio; 13.5 units research methods and project; 22.5 units electives.

Study Pathways:

Applicants who have completed a Bachelor (Honours) degree in a related discipline are eligible to enter the program with 1.0 EFTSL Advanced Standing and complete the program in 1 year of full time study or equivalent part time study.

Further information:

Applicants must also submit a portfolio of work, curriculum vitae and a written statement of intent. Applicants who have completed the Graduate Diploma in Design from the University of South Australia are eligible to enter and are not required to submit a portfolio of work and statement of intent.

Recognition:

Graduates of this program are eligible for Associate Membership of the Design Institute of Australia. Graduates are eligible for membership of the Design Institute of Australia after three years of professional practice.
