The Bachelor of Music provides students with a unique degree which focuses solely on jazz, and is taught at the innovative James Morrison Academy of Music in Mount Gambier, South Australia. Students are immersed in jazz history, styles, analysis and arrangements when they embark on this three-year journey. Taught by world-renowned jazz musicians and educators, including acclaimed Australian jazz musician James Morrison, the degree covers topics such as improvisation, second study piano, principle study and large ensemble and repertoire ensemble.

Standard entry requirements
- Qualify for South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE) with competitive ATAR
- Or complete secondary education equivalent to SACE
- Complete International Baccalaureate Diploma
- Complete or partially complete higher education program
- Complete four Open Universities Australia courses at undergraduate level or above
- Complete a Certificate IV level or above
- Qualify for special entry
- Complete a Foundation Studies program
- Complete the UniSA Diploma in Music and/or Associate Degree in Music program
- And meet any pre-requisite and academic requirements. International students who speak English as a foreign language must have obtained the required standards prior to admission.
Further information
All applicants must undertake a musical audition with staff of the James Morrison Academy of Music as a minimum standard of musical performance prior to commencement in the program. Applicants may attend a live audition or submit a recording to the Academy for assessment. Applicants who have completed the UniSA Diploma in Music and/or Associate Degree in Music may not be required to undertake an audition.
