The Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) / Bachelor of Business (Finance) double degree provides students with strong reporting and analytical skills, while learning how external and global markets can affect organisations. Students use state-of-the-art technologies to identify, analyse and interpret financial information and develop strong communication and teamwork skills.

Qualify for South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE) with competitive ATAR; or complete secondary education equivalent to SACE; complete International Baccalaureate Diploma; complete or partially complete higher education program; complete four Open Universities Australia courses at undergraduate level or above; complete a Certificate IV level or above; qualify for special entry; complete a Foundation Studies program; and meet any pre-requisite and academic requirements. International students who speak English as a foreign language must have obtained the required standards prior to admission.

The Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Institute University Recognition Program grants recognition to institutions whose degree programs incorporate at least 70% of the CFA Program Candidate Body of Knowledge (CBOK). These programs position students to undertake the Chartered Financial Analyst exam, which has become one of the most respected and recognised investment credentials in the world. The CFA Institute University Recognition Program signals to potential employers and the marketplace that the curriculum is closely tied to professional practice and is well-suited to preparing students to sit for the CFA examinations. Through participation in this program, the University of South Australia's Business School is eligible to grant a number of student scholarships for the CFA Program each year.


This program is recognised for maximum exemptions toward the Association of International Accountants' (AIA) professional examinations. It is accredited by CPA Australia and satisfies the educational requirements for entry into the CPA Program. It is accredited by Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand and satisfies the educational requirements for entry into the Chartered Accountants Program. Graduates of the program satisfy the educational requirements for membership of the Financial Services Institute of Australasia (FINSIA) where they are working in the financial services industry. This program has also been accepted into the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Institute University Recognition Program and is recognised for maximum exemptions toward the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants' (ACCA) professional programs of study.
