Globalisation is rapidly changing the scope and nature of international business and trade, and business success is highly dependent on the ability to understand and respond to economic issues and forces. Students develop specialised knowledge of the extensive implications and opportunities arising from the process of international economic and financial integration. The program is founded upon a platform of microeconomics, macroeconomics and statistics, and shows how economic principles may be applied to issues in the international economy. Electives and a research report enable students to focus on their specific needs and interests. Graduates of this program possess a qualification with critical skills and competencies required in commercial enterprises; financial and investment operations; government departments; and development-related organisations. This qualification positions working professionals for advancement.

Entry Requirements:

24 units: An approved Bachelor degree with a GPA of at least 4.50 on a 7 point scale. An approved degree is a Bachelor degree in the discipline of economics, business or commerce; or a Bachelor degree containing at least four courses in any three of the following areas: microeconomics, macroeconomics, statistics and mathematics; or the graduate certificate in economics from this university with a GPA of 4.5. 32 units: Bachelor degree or equivalent in any discipline with a GPA of 4.5 on a 7 point scale; or Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma in Economics with a GPA of 4.5 on a 7 point scale.
